Equipment

  • 1 Ai Fryer
  • 1 large mixing bowl
  • papaer towel or kitchen towels

Ingredients

  • 1½ tsp fresh Brussels sprouts
  • 1½ tsp olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon Himalayan pink salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 3 tsp pure maple syrup
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the brussels sprouts:Trim the tough stem ends and cut the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise. Rinse and dry them thoroughly with paper towels or a clean kitchen towel.
  • Season the sprouts: Add the Brussels sprouts to a large bowl. Toss with olive oil, Himalayan pink salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the Brussels sprouts in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375°F for 17 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
  • During the final 2–3 minutes, drizzle the maple syrup over the Brussels sprouts and toss gently. Return them to the air fryer to finish cooking.
  • Continue cooking until the Brussels sprouts have crispy, caramelized edges and tender centers. Let them rest for 1–2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Dry the Brussels sprouts thoroughly before air frying for crispier edges.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Cut the Brussels sprouts evenly so they cook evenly.
  • Add maple syrup only during the final 2–3 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Air fryer cooking times vary by model and sprout size.
  • Fresh Brussels sprouts are recommended for the crispiest results.
  • Frozen Brussels sprouts can be used, but they may not become as crispy.
Storage:
Cool leftover Brussels sprouts completely and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheating:
Reheat in the air fryer at 375°F for 3–4 minutes, shaking once halfway through. Avoid the microwave if you want to maintain crispiness.
Tip For perfectly caramelized Brussels sprouts, always add the maple syrup during the last 2–3 minutes of air frying. Adding it too early can make the syrup burn and turn bitter. This simple timing trick gives you crispy edges with a deliciously sweet, glossy glaze.
